RICHA KEDIA
Wildlife Artist, Illustrator & Graphic Designer
VISION
Covid is not the first zoonotic disease and will not be the last, unless humans mend our ways and start respecting other species as each species has an important role to play. I try and educate people about nature and wildlife through my art, so that they fall in love as generally we tend to protect what we love. Especially the kids, should learn to protect nature passionately else soon there will be nothing left to protect, which will be a pity as nature is very fascinating.
BACKGROUND
After dabbling around with art over the weekends for about a decade, I decided to quit my corporate job and pursue my passion in art and nature full time and haven't regretted a day since. I am a Chemical Engineer by qualification and have pursued a 2-year part-time diploma in fine arts from Delhi Collage of Arts, New Delhi and a 3 months diploma in graphic design from Shillington, Australia.
CURRENT WORK
I have been freelancing since 2017 and have executed several illustration projects for reputed brands like WWF India, Traffic, Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, AIIMS, Wellcome Trust, George Institute of Global Health, IIITD, Pugdundee Safaris, Aramness.
I have a penchant for travelling, history, nature, wildlife and literature; thereby rendering multiple dimensions to my art! I love researching on the subject thoroughly before depicting it and also experimenting in various mediums and styles. Wildlife and nature are my favourite muse. I spend a lot of time gardening, birding, observing wildlife and rearing butterflies. I also conduct outdoor nature journalling workshops for kids, igniting their curiosity.
If you have an interesting idea, please don't hesitate to ping me for commissions/ collaborations!
